The CGS Foundation had hoped to launch the 2018 Annual Giving Appeal alongside the Whole School Family Picnic with the inaugural Red Hill Run however, torrential rain forced the cancellation of what had shaped up to be a very successful School community event.
All funds raised from the Red Hill Run will go towards the School’s Campus Development Plan which was launched in 2017 and the upgrade of sporting facilities such as the re-development of our rowing shed, tennis and netball courts, Flinders Oval and the Main Oval Pavilion.
In 2019 the Red Hill Run event will run in conjunction with the P&F Community Carnival. Based on the response in 2018 the CGS Foundation Red Hill Run is set to be a must-attend event in the calendar of the School and wider Canberra community. The event is open to everyone, whether a running enthusiast, a more tranquil jogger, or even a casual walker. It will consist of three routes:
All funds raised from the Red Hill Run will go towards the School’s Campus Development Plan which was launched in 2017 and the upgrade of sporting facilities.
1. A timed 5k,
2. A timed 10k run for those who prefer distance, and;
3. A casual walk along the gravel tracks of Red Hill
In addition to the above, P & F Community Carnival will also held, allowing families to enjoy the lovely weather and atmosphere on the CGS P&F Oval. There will be food and refreshments available on the day, including a BBQ run by the School sporting groups, gelato, music, the CGS Foundation Farm and some other carnival attractions.
The date of the 2019 Red Hill Run is Sunday 3 March commencing at 10:00am with registrations opening at 9:00am.
The Red Hill Run will contribute towards our aim to combine community generosity with the resources of the CGS Foundation, the P&F, the sporting associations and the School to support the Campus Master Plan. To find out more about the master plan or to donate to the CGS Foundation campaign, please visit the Campus Development Plan page.

Can I participate with a pram?
The 10k course is a loop with sections that are steep and uneven, along with some fence stile crossings – making this course unsuitable for prams. The 5k course is more suitable and pram accessible, albeit still with some rough patches – we would advise caution for anyone considering participating with a pram.
