Philanthropy is transforming lives through the power of scholarships and access bursaries.
We saw that in our community’s rallying support for those in need during the bushfires and pandemic of 2020. It was our determination that no student’s education should be jeopardised by those natural disasters, and our community more than rose to it.
We see it in our long and generous heritage of affording opportunities to students of talent through our Foundation’s suite of merit-based scholarships for academic, musical and personal potential: the Robert Poate Scholarship for Leadership, the Old Boys’ Association Scholarship for Distinctive Potential, the Peter Hazlehurst Scholarship for Technology, and many more.
We also see it in our thriving new CGS Indigenous Scholarships Programme, which embodies our commitment, as a school founded for the national capital, to educate the generations who will create a just and equitable future for all Australians.
Along with the Podmore Foundation, the CGS Foundation now supports a thriving group of impressive young First Australians who will go on to shape our nation’s future with pride in its deepest heritage. We look frward to welcoming many more in the years to come.
Our goal is to ensure that our School is proudly at the very forefront of opening access to outstanding education for bright, talented and aspiring young Australians, regardless of background and means.
We invite you to join us in realising that goal.
Your part in their future
We invite all members of our community to join us in contributing to our $2m scholarships and bursaries target by naming each of the 1000 seats to be installed in our new auditorium.
Every contribution of $2000 to the CGS Foundation Scholarships and Bursaries Fund will be acknowledged with a name on an auditorium seat. Each seat can be named for an individual or a family, either by single donation or by pledged instalments over the coming years.
All donations are tax-deductible and will go to the CGS Foundation Scholarship and Bursaries Fund, not to the purchase of the seats, which are included in the gift of Mr Terry Snow for the construction of the auditorium.
